A "wireless" cam from Sanyo
The Japanese subdivision of Sanyo today reported the development of digital cam prototype supporting wireless network access and showed it at NETWORLD + INTEROP 2002 in Tokyo.
The prototype bases on 1.5 megapixel DSC-SX560 and features IEEE 802.11b adapter, plugged into a CompactFlash slot. The cam has its own TCP/IP stack and allows to upload shots to a remote server at once. Still the upload time is questionable, though IEEE 802.11b adapter is said to support up to 11 Mbps data transmission rates.
