48/16/48x CD-RW drive from LG

LG Electronics announced its new internal CD-RW drive — GCE-8480B — with E-IDE/ATAPI interface (Ultra DMA Mode 2) to appear for sale in the middle of July.


It features 48/16/48 speeds, 2 MB buffer, SuperLink buffer protection technology. The drive supports 8x, 12x, 16x (CLV), 24x (P-CAV), 32x (P-CAV), 40x (CAV), 48x (CAV) writing; 4x, 10x, 12x, 16x rewriting; 48x (CAV) reading. Read access time is about 100 ms.
