ATI: RV250 and R300 on July, 17?
Taiwan rumours that ATI Technologies plans to present two new RV250-based GPUs Radeon 9000 and Radeon 9000 Pro, and the top-end DirectX 9 Radeon 9700 chip (former R300) already on Wednesday, July, 17.
As you know, NVIDIA decided to use only 0.13-micron process technology for its NV18 and NV30 chips (with the usual contractor TSMC). So, according to provisional data, such boards will appear only in the end of the third quarter. In its turn, ATI, for the sake of efficiency, decided to make both 0.15-, and 0.13-micron chips. R300 production will completely transit to 0.13-micron process technology closer to the end of 2002.
According to provisional data, we should expect new RV250-based cards from ATI already in September.
