Casio to stop E-200 shipments?
According to the online Pocket PC Newswire, in the near future Casio plans to cancel shipments of its E-200 Pocket PC, featuring SD and CF slots.
Just to remind: E-200 is a rather modern Pocket PC, based on 206 MHz Intel StrongARM. It has 3.5-inch 240x320 / 65K colors reflective TFT screen, 64MB RAM, 32MB ROM. According to some information, Casio E-200 production has already been stopped (by the way, a contract OEM maker of E-200 is Taiwanese Winstron, that plans to ship up to 1.1 million of new Pocket PCs to Dell before X-mas). Reasons of Casio E-200 sales cancellation haven´t been named yet.
Though same sources report that currently Casio is developing a new Pocket PC device and is going to present it in the nearest future. All details are to appear later.
