P4S133-VM/LAN: an inexpensive SiS650-based solution from ASUS
Today ASUSTeK Computer presented ASUS P4S133-VM/LAN, based on SiS650 + SiS961 logics bundle.
ASUS P4S133-VM/LAN will occupy a niche between the cheapest SDRAM solution without an AGP slot (P4SDR-VM) and DDR solution with an AGP slot and an Ethernet controller (P4S333-VM/LAN). The board features SiS integrated graphics and integrated sound.
P4S133-VM/LAN is intended for Socket 478 Intel Pentium4 Celeron processors and junior Intel Pentium4 CPUs. Costing a few bucks more than P4SDR-VM, the new solution is more technologically advanced. First, it has an AGP slot enabling for graphics upgrades, second, it features versions with and without Ethernet controller. At that, the price of a ready board is considerably lower than when using P4S333-VM/LAN due to the different prices of memory and more expensive DDR functionality components.
ASUS P4S133-VM/LAN specifications:
- Socket-478 Intel Pentium 4 (Northwood / Willamette) support
- SIS 650/691 chipset
- 400 MHz Front-Side-Bus (FSB)
- SIS integrated graphics
- 2 x SDRAM DIMM, up to 2 GB of PC133 SDRAM
- 2 x ATA100, up to 4 IDE devices
- 1 x AGP 4 and 3 x PCI
- RJ45 10/100Mbit Ethernet
- microATX design
- The suggested retail price $72 without Ethernet and $78 with it
Now the line of ASUS integrated solutions on SiS 650/650GL looks like: P4SDR-VM, P4S133VM/LAN (with and without Ethernet) and P4S333-VM/LAN (with and without Ethernet).
