Samsung SDI launches volume production of small-sized OLED screens
It´s nice to realize that sometimes implementation follows development in a very short time. So, it took Samsung SDI a bit more than a month to prepare the volume production of its OLED screens (organic light-emitting diodes; organic electro-luminescence displays, OELD) to launch it in the nearest future.
Samsung OLED screens are 21È16 mm in size, support 256 colors, 100 candles/sq.m brightness, 100:1 contrast and 1 microsecond response time, enabling video playback and gaming.
By the year-end the company plans to make 100,000 screens for new mobile phones from Samsung Electronics.
