EPoX EP-4T4AU: I850E + ICH4 + 32-bit RDRAM
In August we´ve already written about EPoX EP-4T4A motherboard on an unusual (and unique) I850E + ICH4 bundle with 32-bit RDRAM. Now EP-4T4AU appeared in the Japanese retail market, so we got a chance to provide more detailed photos and approximate pricing.
EP-4T4AU is the second (after ASUS P4T533) mobo supporting 32-bit RIMM RDRAM and the first, based on I850E + ICH4. Pity, but news do not disclose how EpoX has succeeded to combine previously uncompatible i850E and ICH4 and 32-bit RDRAM. But the main thing is that it is real and the board is in retail. Let´s hope we´ll be able to lay our hands on it for testing soon.
Board brief specifications: 5 PCI slots, AGP 4È slot, two 232-pin RIMM for 32-bit PC600/PC800/PC1066 RDRAM (64 MB to 2 GB modules), IEEE 1394 and USB 2.0, 10/100Mb Fast Ethernet (Realtek RTL8100B), Ultra DMA-133 / IDE RAID (0, 1, 0+1) (HPT372). In Tokyo EP-4T4AU costs 19999 yens (about $165).
