Elpida announces 1GB DDR SO-DIMM PC2100 modules
Today Elpida announced shipments of 1GB DDR SO-DIMM notebook modules.

Novelties (128M x 64 bit, 2 banks, PC2100, CAS Latency = 2, 2. 5) are based on 512 Mbit DDR SDRAM chips, made using 0.13-micron process technology, packaged into JEDEC´s standard 200-pin Small Outline DIMM (SO-DIMM) 3.8-mm thick.

Low height rides from double-sided, "double-layered" thin TCP (Tape Carrier Package) chip design, unlike other 1GB SO-DIMM modules, based on one layer of 16 TSOP 512 Mbit chips.
The volume production of new 1GB DDR SO-DIMM modules is planned to January 2003.
