Samsung and Hynix negotiate to raise DDR contract prices
According to Maeli Business Paper, Korean Samsung Electronics and Hynix Semiconductor are going to raise contract prices for 256 Mbit DDR SDRAM chips for large customers.
Referring to industry sources, they report that last Tuesday Korean companies negotiated to raise prices by 5-7%, i.e. up to $7-8 per 256 Mbit DDR chip. The negotiations may finish successfully, as the coming season of X-mas volume sales makes OEM partners worry about stable component shipments.
