Toshiba to sell new Genio e550GS and e550GX PDAs
From November 7 Toshiba is to sell three new GENIO E Pocket PC 2002 devices.
All models base on 400MHz Intel PXA250 (Xscale), have 4-inch 240x320x65Ê polycrystalline silicon LCD, feature CF Type2, SDIO, USB, IrDA. In December the company is to release an optional IEEE 802.11b WLAN module.
GENIO e550GS has 64MB RAM and is supplied with a remote control. At the company website it costs 59800 yens (about $500).
The top GENIO e550GX has 128MB RAM but is not supplied with headphones + remote. Direct sales will start on November 15 on the website, the price is 69800 yens (about $580).
GENIO e550GX/MD is expected late in November. It will feature 1GB IBM Microdrive and will cost 99800 yens (about $830).
Devices´ dimensions are 76.5x125x15.9mm, weight – 170g (Microdrive model weighs about 190g). The package includes stylus, USB cradle. Operation time: 10 hours at 400 MHz, 13 hours at 200 MHz, 16 hours at 100 MHz. Microdrive model works 9/12/15 hours respectively.
