IBM announces ThinkPad R31/R32
IBM announced new ThinkPad R31/R32 notebooks.
ThinkPad R32 features 14.1-inch 1024x768 (XGA) LCDm Intel 845MP chipset, 16MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON, and universal Ultra bay. Dimensions are 313x254x38 mm, weight – 2.7-2.8 kg. 2658-MCJ also features 1.7 GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M, 256MB PC2100 (up to 1GB), 40GB HDD, 8/8/8/24x DVD/CD-RW, integrated Cisco IEEE 802.11b WLAN, Windows XP Professional and Office XP Personal. The price is about $2200. 2658-N5J features 2.0 GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M, 256MB RAM, 30GB HDD, 8/24x DVD-ROM, Cisco IEEE 802.11b. It will cost about $2300.
ThinkPad R31 series includes several models with different optical drives, amount of RAM, and HDDs. Common features include 14.1-inch XGA LCD, Intel 830MG with integrated graphics. Dimensions are 313x254x36 mm, weight – 2.9-3 kg.
2656-PYJ bases on 1.2 GHz Mobile Celeron, has 256MB PC133 (up to 1GB), 40GB HDD, 8/16/10/24x DVD/CD-RW, Windows XP Professional and Office XP Personal. It costs about $1850. 2656-M6J differs by integrated IEEE 802.11b, 128MB RAM, 20GB HDD, 24x CD-ROM and Windows XP Professional. It costs about $1450.
