Waiting for AMD Athlon XP 2600+ and XP 2700+ with 333MHz FSB?
Often Japanese retail "indicates" how close novelties are to other markets. If a new product was seen for sale in Tokyo, it will rather possibly appear in European price lists in two or three weeks or even earlier. Naturally, this touches volume shipments.
So, this weekend the long-awaited Socket A Athlon XP 2600+ and XP 2700+ with 333MHz FSB and 2.08GHz and 2.17 GHz clocks, AXDA2600DKV3D and AXDA2700DKV3D steppings, costing $330–$360, $420–$450, respectively, have at last reached the Japanese retail.
Well, it’s expensive, but the first step is the hardest. Let’s hope this exotics, promised in October will reach us as well.
P.S. By the way, unlike AMD´s 333MHz FSB products, slow to retail, recently announced 2.1GHz and 2.2GHz Socket 478 Celerons (at least box versions) are alreasy showcased in Tokyo storefronts, that speaks for their mass character.
