Parhelia-512 256MB: sales started, wanna buy?
Just look at the price first. 256Mb Parhelia-512, as you know, was announced late in October. Despite it’s identical to 128Mb version (except for the doubled memory, of course), the company positions it for the high-end workstation market, supplying Parhelia 256MB with AutoCAD 2002 drivers, TORNADO Technologies utilities, 3ds max plugins and color calibration utilities. Nevertheless, noone expected the price to be as high, as in the Japanese retail – 77,777 – 85,800 yens ($650-715).

Some details about Parhelia 256MB, not stated in the press release: according to the information from the company website, 256Mb PH-A256 features 200/250 MHz GPU/memory clock, and 128Mb PH-A128R 220/275 MHz clock. Besides, instead of 3.3ns chips PH-A256 features 3.6ns chips. There were no other hardware differences noticed.

The price is normal for this card as the AEC, DCC, MCAD, or GIS solution, considering the triple monitor output. But the sense of purchasing it for a home PC is doubtful...
