TFT LCD prices to remain the same in December
According to Taiwanese Commercial Times, December TFT LCD prices are to remain the same as the result of long negotiations, despite the companies hoped for a slight increase at least.
Taiwanese analysts tie the inceased demand for TFT LCD panels with some stock depletion instead of the actual customer demand increase.
As for the retail prices, according to messages from Taiwan, ViewSonic announced a significant discount for its large-inch models – about 35-40%. Before the X-mas the company offers 18" LCD for the price of 17". Thus ViewSonic 18" models got cheaper from NT$30,000 to NT$18,800 i.e. from about $860 to $540.
