ASUS announces 4x DVD-RW — DRW-0402P
ASUSTeK Computer announced the new DVD-R/RW drive — ASUS DRW-0402P.
ASUS DRW-0402P is the successor of the first-generation DVR-104. DRW-0402P supports DVD-R/RW and DVD, recognized by DVD Forum.
ASUS DRW-0402P specifications:
- Supported formats: DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-Video, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM Mode1, CD-ROM/XA Mode2, Photo CD, CD-I, CD-Extra, CD-Text
- Write speeds: 4X DVD-R, 2X DVD-RW, 16X CD-R, 8X CD-RW
- Read speeds: 12X DVD-ROM, 32X CD-ROM
- Supported DAO, TAO, SAO, Packet Write
- Buffer underrun protection
- Supported UDMA33
- Bundled CD/DVD writing/editing software
- Vertical and horizontal installation
- Air vent for optimal temperature conditions

DVD-R/RW discs, recorded by DRW-0402P, are compatible with most existing DVD and DVD-ROM drives. ASUS DRW-0402P will be available for shipment in the end of december 2002.
