November semiconductor sales results, according to SIA
According to Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), the results of November worldwide semiconductor sales prove the slow, but stable market restoration. The sales volume total made $12.68 billion in November 2002, that’s 1.3% more than $12.51 of October and 19.6% more than $10.60 of November 2001.
SIA named the wireless device segment the most dynamic, underlining the increased demand for Wi-Fi components. The sales of flash memories and DSPs grew significantly as well: by 6.6% and 3.7%, respectively. CPU sales grew by 0.5%, DRAM sales – by 5.8%.
The highest sales growth of 5.8% was marked in the European market. In Asian-Pacific sales grew by 1.3%; in North America and Japan sales volumes reduced by 0.8% and 0.6%.
