Toshiba to ship high-end DynaBook G7 series
In the nearest future Toshiba is to ship its high-end all–in-one A4 notebooks DynaBook G7. The company is to release three models, differing by processors and LCD displays. All three feature DVD-R/RW recorders supporting DVD-RAM media. They also feature multipurpose bays for the second optical drive, additional HDD, battery pack, TV tuner, etc.
G7/U24PDDW (about $3300) on Intel 845MP chipset has 15" 1600x1200 (UXGA) LCD display (Fine SuperView), 2.40GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M, 512Mb PC2100 (up to 1Gb), 32Mb DDR GeForce4 460 Go, 60Gb HDD, Windows XP Professional and Office XP Personal. Besides, it features built-in 2.1-ch. soundsystem from Harman/Kardon with integrated subwoofer, PC Card Type II and SD card ports, built-in IEEE 802.11b and Bluetooth 1.1 interfaces, V. 90 modem, USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 ports, D-Sub15, S/PDIF, TV-Out connectors. It’s dimensions are 334x305.8x38.2mm, weight 3.6 kg.
Other model, including G7/X19PDEW (about $2900) and G7/X19PDE (about $2500), feature 1.9GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M processors, 256Mb RAM, 15" 1400x1050 LCD displays, Windows XP Home Edition. The lower-end model doesn’t have TV tuner and IEEE 802.11b interface as well.
