Prices for 256Mbit DDR SDRAM make a reduction record
According to online DRAM eXchange, yesterday wholesale prices for 256Mbit DDR SDRAM chips reduced to a record-breaking low $3.90 mark, for the first time below $4.
A year ago, prices for 256Mbit DDR SDRAM were floating at about $7.46 and have even been rasing to $9 in H1 2002. Analysts say the reason for reduction is the significantly increased shipments from Korean Samsung Electronics and a number of Taiwanese makers.
Analysts think that DDR SDRAM prices will be stable enough in the near future. Now they expect DDR SDRAM demand and prices reduction to continue in April-May.
