Nikon Coolpix SQ: 3.1 megapixels in miniature
Nikon announced a new miniature 3.1-mp digital still camera — Coolpix SQ.
It features 1/2.7" CCD (3.10 million pixels effective) allowing to shoot at 2016x1512, 1600x1200, 1024x768 and 640x480 and record up to 40s QuickTime movies at 320x240@15fps. The lens feature 37mm to 111mm focusing distance (35mm equiv.; F2.7-4.8) and 40mm minimal focusing range. This aluminium-body camera has an optical VF, 1.5" LCD display, CF Type I slot, USB 2.0 and rotating optical block. It also allows to record up to 15s voice comments and supports BSS (The Best Shot Selector) for selecting the best image in a 10-shot serie. The model will be also bundled with a cradle.
Measured 82x25.5x82mm, Coolpix SQ weighs 180g. Pricing and shipments information is unavailable at the moment.
