Toshiba GENIO e550C: a Pocket PC with a digital camera
On March, 8, in Japan Toshiba will start selling its new GENIO e550 Pocket PC devices, one of models featuring a digital camera.

GENIO e550 family utilize newer-stepping PXA25X processor, still codenamed PXA255 (if you remember, the first GENIO e550/MD featured 206MHz Intel StrongARM SA1110.) Besides, GENIO e550C also features a digital camera, and GENIO e550GD – a multilanguage dictionary (40,000 pairs).

Both devices have 4" 240x320 LCD low-temperature polycrystalline silicon display, 400MHz Intel PXA255, 128Mb RAM, 48Mb ROM (e550C) or 32Mb ROM (e550GD), CF Type II and SD I/O slots, USB and IrDA ports, and Pocket PC 2002. e550C digital camera features 1/5" 310,000-pixel CCD. Measured 76.5x125x15.9mm (e550GD) and 76.5x125x17.5 mm (e550C), both models weigh 170g. Basic model is capable of 20-hour operation (12 hours of MP3 playback). Digicam model works 13 (8) hours.

In Japan GENIO e550GD will cost about $580, e550C – about $620.
