Sony announces Lateral Deflection Shot printing technology
Today Sony announced its new LD Shot (Lateral Deflection Shot) technology thattogether with Line Heads provides nearly photographical quality at higher speeds compared to usual printers (~6s for an À4 sheet.)

LD Shot utilizes line print heads (instead of usual serial ones) along with high-precision positioning technique. This enables to position each ink drop according to the content printed. And, besides, according to Sony, achieves exact line parallelism conparing to usual ink printing.
Having not dated the commercialization, the company announced the development of an À4 printer prototype supporting 600 dpi for each CMYK component (Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black), i.e. 20480-nozzle line print head. Namely this device can print a high-quality À4 sheet in 6s.
