SiS748: a new AMD K7 chipset supporting 400MHz FSB and DDR400
SiS updated its AMD K7 chipset line with the new SiS748 supporting 400MHz FSB, DDR400 and AGP8X. I’m sure whether SiS’s 400MHz FSB support indirectly confirms rumours that AMD prepares to release such processors closer to May, or this is just a show of strength. Anyway this sounds prospective.
SiS748 Northbridge will be coupled with SiS963L Southbridge interconnected by 16-bit full-duplex 533MHz MuTIOL 1G bus. Besides, it will support USB 2.0/1.1, 5.1-ch. AC97 sound, 10/100Mb Ethernet and Home PNA2.0. Shipment dates are not availavble at the moment.
