M-Audio Audiophile USB: a new external USB/MIDI interface
Japanese branch of M-Audio informed that early in April it will be shipping Audiophile USB – an external USB/MIDI interface with SPDIF support. For the first time this card was announced in November 2002.


Audiophile USB is designed for Mac/PC and is an improved version of popular Audiophile 2496. Audiophile USB enables establishing PC connections via USB audio and MIDI sources. The device features two analog linear inputs (1/4" or RCA sockets), two analog linear outputs (RCA) with volume control, coaxial S/PDIF in/out, MIDI interface, headphone out. Besides, it supports AC3, 24bit/96kHz ADC (109dB dynamic range) and DAC (107dB dynamic range). The bundle also includes drivers for Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.X/Mac OS X 10 1.5. The MSRP is $249,99.
