Tejas and Prescott: more details
PC Watch reported some more details on Tejas and Prescott processors. If you remember, the former will support 1066MHz FSB and feature 4.4-5GHz clock speeds and new packages.
Tejas

- 120-140 mm² (90nm) and 80-100 mm² (65nm) crystal size
- Enhanced Hyper-Threading
- 8 new instructions (Tejas New Instructions, TNI) for improved voice recognition, multi-threading, Dolby Digital support (codename "Azalia"), etc.
- 1Mb L2 cache
- 24Kb L1 cache
- 16Ęb custom op cache
- 800/1066MHz FSB
- Socket T LGA 775 package
- Dual-channel DDR2 400/533MHz, PCI Express x16 & ICH6 support
Prescott:
- 90nm process technology
- 109 mm² crystal size
- 13 new instructions (Prescott New Instructions, PNI) for video encoding, thread synchronization and complex math ops, float-to-integer conversions, etc.
- LaGrande support
- 1Mb L2 cache
- 16Kb L1 cache
- 800MHz FSB
- Socket T LGA 775 package
- 3.4GHz initial clock speed; up to 5GHz
- Dual-channel DDR2 400/533MHz, PCI Express x16 & ICH6 support
Expected availability: Prescott – Q4 2003, Tejas – 2004.
