NVIDIA Quadro FX 500: new graphics solution for entry-level workstations
NVIDIA added to its workstation graphics series the new Quadro FX 500 GPU. It’s positioned as the first entry-level workstation solution with fully programmable core.
Like other Quadro FX models, new GPUs feature parallel vertex engines with int. cache, support 128-bit floating point precision and the Unified Driver Architecture (UDA).
According to the press release, NVIDIA Quadro FX 500 is already being produced at full speed, with North American and European partners to be ready to offer such solutions within the nearest future. Considering that high-end Quadro FX 2000 cost about $1500, Quadro FX 1000 – about $1000, I assume that Quadro FX 500 might cost about $500.
Below are Quadro FX test results from SPECviewperf 7.1 taken from the NVIDIA website.
