Hitachi updates FLORA 270W notebook line
These days Hitachi launches shipments of 9 new A4 notebooks belonging to the FLORA 270W series.

The highest-end of them, PC8NV8, feature SiS M650 + SiS862 chipset, 2.2/2.0GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M, 256Mb PC2100 DDR SDRAM, 20Gb HDD, 15" SXGA+ / 15" XGA / 14.1" XGA LCD, USB2.0, IEEE1394, 10/100BASE-TX, PC card Type II/III slots, Windows XP Professional – which makes the total of 10 models sized up to 326x275x41.8mm, weighing up to 3.6kg and operating up to 2 hours with standard batteries. In Japan they’ll cost $1900 and over.
The standard PC8NV9 bases on 1.70GHz Mobile Celeron; features 14.1"/15" XGA LCD and similar size and weight. Batteries provide about 1.8 hours of operation. The price starts from $1700.
The mainstream PC-8NK01 bases on 1.80GHz Celeron; features 14.1" XGA LCD. With similar size and weight of 3.5kg, it works up to 1.3 hours and costs about $1600.
