Dell announces new Inspiron 500m, Latitude D800 and Latitude D400 on 1.70GHz Pentium M
Dell announced new models for its Inspiron 500m, Latitude D800 and Latitude D400 series, dating it to the release of Intel’s new 1.70GHz Pentium M.
Besides the new CPU, Inspiron 500m features have almost remained the same: 14.1" SXGA+ display, i855GM chipset, Intel PRO/Wireless, 512Mb PC2100 DDR SDRAM, 60Gb Ultra ATA/100 HDD, DVD/CD-RW combo, a variety of interfaces, 2.5-hour battery. Sized 315x259x31mm, it weighs 2.46kg. With Windows XP Home Edition SP1 the model will cost about $2300 in Japan.
The Latitude D800 series was updated with a model featuring 15.4" WUXGA display, i855PM chipset, Intel PRO/Wireless, 64Mb GeForce4 4200 Go, Gigabit Ethernet. Sized 361x276x39mm, it weighs 3.1kg. With 1Gb PC2100 DDR SDRAM, 60Gb Ultra ATA/100 HDD, DVD/CD-RW combo and Windows 2000 Pro (SP3) / XP Pro SP1 / XP Home Edition SP1 the notebook will cost $3400.
Miniature Latitude D400 now includes a model on 1.70GHz Pentium M as well. It has 12.1" display, i855GM chipset, 256Mb PC2100 DDR SDRAM, 20Gb Ultra ATA/100 HDD, external CD-RW and Windows 2000 Pro (SP3) / XP Pro SP1 / XP Home Edition SP1. Sized 294x245x26.6mm, it weighs 1.69kg. This model costs $2400.
