Melco offers PCI and CardBus FireWire/USB solutions
Melco Inc. released two USB2.0/IEEE1394 interface cards, one of them being a CardBus (IFC-CB2IU2/UC), and the other (IFC-PCI7IU2) – PCI board. The novelties should arrive for sale in mid- or late June for about $74 and $36.
IFC-CB2IU2/UC features 1 USB (USB A) and 1 IEEE1394 (4-pin) ports supporting the maximum of 480Mbps USB throughput and 400Mbps IEEE1394 throughput. It consumes up to 1.3W. Sized 54x121x13mm, it weighs about 47g.
IFC-PCI7IU2 offers more ports: 3 external and 1 internal USB; 2 external and 1 internal IEEE1394. This one consumes 2.5W and needs 500mA (excluding the port output). Sized 120x94x10mm, it weighs about 70g (excluding the mounting bracket).
