Nikon D2H officially announced
Nikon officially announced its rumoured camera, D2H ($4136). This digital SLR model features new 4.1Mp matrix, LBCAST (Lateral Buried Charge Accumulator and Sensing Transistor Array) on JFET transistors, which considerably reduces noise and provides higher color precision. Maximum sensor resolution is 2484x1636 (3:2 side ratio).

Matrix has 4.26 million pixels total. Image resolutions are 2464x1632 (L), 1840x1224 (M). The camera supports up to 40 JPEG frames burst at (or up to 25 RAW) at 8fps. In general, the camera supports TIFF (RGB), NEF + JPEG, NEF (12-bit RAW), JPEG (EXIF 2.2) formats.

Other features: 11-point AF, TTL; ISO 200-1600; 30-1/8000s exposures, 37ms shutter lag. The camera has a 2.5" display with 211,000 pixels. Supported interfaces include USB2.0, video-out and 802.11b.

Supported media: Compact Flash Type I/II, Microdrive. Bundle includes EN-EL4 Li-Ion battery, MH-21 charger.

Weighing 1.07kg, the camera is sized 158x150x86mm. Shipments are scheduled to Q4 2003.
Along with the camara the company introduced three new lens: two DX-Nikkor (AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED and AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED), and one 200-400mm F4.0G with vibration reduction system.
