Plextor releases new PX-708A combo able to write DVD+R at 8õ
Plextor released its new combo, PX-708A, supporting DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-R/RW. The drive is able to write DVD+R at 8õ, DVD-R – at 4õ; rewrite DVD+RW at 4õ, DVD-RW – at 2õ; read DVD-R at 12õ; write CD-R at 40õ; rewrite CD-RW at 24õ; read CD-R at 24õ.
The drive features 2Mb buffer, provides 33Mb/s burst transfers for 8-min 4.7Gb DVD+R writing. The combo can be installed both vertically, and horizontally. The package includes ATA/ATAPI-5 combo itself, Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.1 Basic DVD Edition, PhotoSuite 5 SE.
PX-708A shipments are scheduled to August 2003, MSRP is $300.
