New Dothans are delayed until Q1 2004
According to The Digitimes , referring to Taiwanese notebook makers, Intel is to delay the release of new Pentium M (Dothan) processors until Q1 2004. However, Intel´s Taiwanese branch rejects this info reporting they haven´t received anything on this from the head office.
The sources claim the delay is caused mostly by heating issues and transition to the new 90nm process. To provide smooth transition to new processors Intel plans to extend the new CPU line with 1.7GHz model (instead of 1.8GHz starting model as before).
