Samsung exhibits HDD-equipped video camera in Berlin
At the "Internationale
Funkausstellung 2003" (IFA2003) consumer electronics exhibition in Berlin Samsung Electronics exhibited a video camera with a built-in hard disk drive.
The company said the product would be released worldwide in December.
In Europe, the price is expected to be 999 euros (about ¥135,000).
This product drew substantial attention being capable of SDTV recording. Initially the release was scheduled to June or July, with $699 price tag.
The main specifications are: Embedded 1.5GB 1" HDD; still images, MPEG4 movies (25fps), MP3 audio, etc. recording. The camera features 350,000-pixel CCD and 10x optical lens.
The model also has 2" color LCD (640x480), USB2.0 interface and Memory Stick PRO slot. Measured 62x36x105mm, the camera weighs 195g.
