Test Audio Section
Our laboratory is equipped with a rack-mount studio mastering interface Lynx Studio Aurora 8 ($3000) and high-quality active studio monitors ADAM S2.5A ($5000). We also have a consumer section from a DVD-Audio/SACD player Pioneer 757Ai (higher category) and a multi-channel amplifier Pioneer VSX-AX5i, connected via non jitter interface i-Link. Acoustic sets B&W 6xS. The total cost of the consumer section is about $6000.
Instrumentation
We use the RightMark™ Audio Analyzer PRO firmware.
All measurements are taken in identical conditions. Anechoic room (floor, ceiling: 15 mm mineral tiles + 50 mm sound-proofing Izover KT 40-50, wooden frame with rubber isolation from wall vibrations). No standing waves in test signals, minimal uniform reverb field.
Earthworks M50 measurement microphone (made in the USA, $2500). Specifications:

- Frequency response 20 Hz to 20 kHz: 0.2 dB
- Frequency response 3 Hz to 50 kHz: +1/-3 dB (dips from 45 kHz)
